The return of cricket: Fans enjoy the first socially-distanced pilot match at The Oval

Fans return to domestic cricket for the first time since the start of lockdown, with Surrey’s friendly against Middlesex chosen as a pilot event by the Government. Up to 1,000 spectators followed a one-way system, and sat at one-metre distances from other groups at the ongoing event at The Oval, in Kennington, south London. Surrey County Cricket Club CEO Richard Gould says the first day has been "a definite success," and superfans Debbie Knight, Rohan Chopra and Rupert Monkhouse describe what it was like being among the first to watch cricket live again.
