Pharaoh sculpture discovered in Egypt might be Psamtik I
CAIRO, EGYPT - MARCH 16: Egypt’s Minister of Antiquities, Khaled El-Enany delivers a speech during a press conference on the discovery of a pharaoh sculpture in Cairo, Egypt on March 16, 2017. El-Enany said that the pharaoh sculpture discovered at the ancient Heliopolis archaeological site in Matareya district might belong to the Psamtik I, the first of three kings of that name of the Saite. El-Enany also stated that the crown and eye shaped hieroglyphs on the pharaoh sculpture mean "the owner of the strong shield", a title which was only used by the Psamtik I.
