Drone Captures Stunning Video of Sandbar Sharks in Hamptons Waters

A drone photographer captured what she described as an exceptional sight as she filmed more than 20 sandbar sharks swimming in shallow waters off the coast of Montauk, in New York. Footage here, filmed by Joanna Steidle of Hampton Drone, shows the sharks swimming not far from the Montauk Point Lighthouse, in what Steidle described as one to three feet of water. "This is very likely a never-before-seen or -documented instance," Steidle told Storyful, adding that she managed to capture 13 sharks in one frame, calling it "a sight I never thought I would witness in New York." Steidle said that the area is known for surfcasting (a fishing method) and surfing, but that it's not for swimming.
