Inverclyde School Welcomes 10 Sets of Twins In Start Of Academic Year
GREENOCK, SCOTLAND - AUGUST 13: Drew McKenzie, the Provost of Inverclyde Council, joined twins about to start primary schools in the Inverclyde area to attend a photocall at St Patricks school on August 13, 2024 in Greenock, United Kingdom. The new starters joining St. Patrick's Primary in Greenock this year are part of a local phenomenon tied to Inverclyde's high twin birthrate, which has earned the Scottish council the nickname 'Twinverclyde.' Since 2013, 147 pairs have begun their schooling in the region, averaging 13 per year. (Footage by Jeff J Mitchell/)
