USAK, TURKEY - FEBRUARY 14: A disabled street dog in Turkey’s Aegean region now has a new home thanks to a generous owner who took him in. Pamuk, a Kangal-mixed puppy, was only two months old when someone spotted him on the street, unable to walk, left to die. After learning of the puppy’s plight on social media, Safiye Acar found Pamuk in a desperate situation with two rear legs paralyzed and almost dying of hunger. Acar is an accountant and animal lover who has helped many stray animals find homes. Pamuk soon recovered, and Acar then decided to adopt him and prepared a doghouse in her yard as the dog has bladder control problems. Now unemployed, Acar told Anadolu Agency she loves Pamuk like he was her own child. "Life somehow brought us together. He’s like my child. I'm doing my best to make him happy,” she said. “There's a very strong bond between us -- so strong that neither I nor him can live without each other." Although unemployed, Acar has been providing for all of Pamuk’s needs. She even bought him a walker. "We go out every day for hours. He got used to the walker; he can even play with other dogs. There’s no way for him to heal. It makes me sad, but I'll look after him for the rest of my life." "We’re like conjoined twins. We go shopping together. Without me, he can’t meet his daily needs. Pamuk is now 9 months old, still growing up. We have to develop his walker as he grows.
