JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA - DECEMBER 6: (INTERVIEW) Director Yann Demange talks about how he needed to fall back in love with filmmaking, a period of stagnation with the pandemic and the actors' strikes, how circumstances get in the way, how there's the tyranny of conventional film development, how you can get stuck there, projects move slowly, interests and studio bosses change, how it's the standard journey for most filmmakers and it can be a grind, feeling he needed to be excited and scared in the way he used to be, needing to self start, writing his own material, wanting to do something personal and free, not having executives on his case and wanting to feel free to fail, wanting to play, making the film restored that, being very nervous, making a short film and how they could have made a low budget feature but how with a short film people are more likely to leave you alone at the "Dammi" press junket during the Red Sea International Film Festival 2023 on December 6, 2023 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
