CANNES, FRANCE - MAY 23: (INTERVIEW) Director Mahdi Fleifel talks about being a Palestinian director attending the Cannes Film Festival, that now is the time to talk about Palestinian stories, there's now a shift in understanding the tragic situation, that he didn't know at the time of making the film it would premiere now, after October 7th 2023 they were in pre-production on the film, that it was so traumatic for everyone that they eventually decided that making the film would be the best thing they could do for their people, and that the film being here feels like a miracle during an interview for "To A Land Unknown" at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival on May 23, 2024 in Cannes, France.
