This is a brown giant millipede of the family Harpagophoridae. This millipede is about 20 cm long and was moving rapidly on the forest floor of Kemuyang Hill in Sibu, Sarawak. Millipedes are a group of arthropods that are characterised by having 2 pairs of jointed legs on most body segments. Most millipedes are detritivores , eating decaying leaves and other dead plants, however some do eat fungi and drink plant fluid.
