Tom Hanks Says He Has Always Been Confident
Interviewer: Did it take you a long time to get confidence in yourself?
Tom Hanks: No. I think, for some reason, I had it at a pretty early age. I remember being able to go into a school and not be intimidated by really anything until some guy slugged me in the head and then I’d be intimidated.
Dan: Well I remember reading something about you once that you went through a phase that you were the class cut up and you were also- -
Tom Hanks: Oh I think all my life I’ve been some form of a class cut up. I was that in high school but I never pushed authority, I never got in trouble. I’d always played within the rules and if I needed to get outside of the rules I’d only do it with the teachers that would let me. So I was never a delinquent.
