Nakba Commemorations In Berlin
BERLIN, GERMANY - MAY 15: Demonstrators hold signs and placards that say, "Your silence kills," and, "Grief is the last act of love," at the commemoration of the 77th anniversary of the Nakba on May 15, 2025 in Berlin, Germany. The Nakba refers to the violent expulsion by Jewish paramilitaries and, following the creation of the state of Israel, by the Israeli military of approximately 750,000 Palestinian Arabs from their lands in 1948 in what was then Mandatory Palestine. Today's commemorations are taking place as many Palestinians in Gaza face starvation due to the Israeli blockade of humanitarian assistance. (Footage by Craig Stennett/Getty Images)
