- Thank you for that warm welcome/ many apologies for being the wrong Cameron (referring to film director James Cameron)/ I really do think what you're doing here today is unbelievably important/ not just practical help but also about inspiration/ what the three young entrepreneurs spoke about in terms of making sure there are mentors, recognition of enterprise and celebrating entrepreneurs is incredibly important
- entrepreneurs have a special place in my life - I go to bed with one every night and before The Sun gets too excited, I wake up with the same entrepreneur in the morning (laughter)/ Samantha left Bristol Polytechnic and started to paint then started a businesses - went to shops and offered to do up their shop window - has made a huge success of it/ she always says, if you're going to do politics one of us had better have a proper job (laughter)
- everyone in this room is united by same belief- we're not going to build the future with big government spending and big debt/ recovery has got to be led by private sector, a recovery with Made In Britain stamped all over it/ those who argue we just have to pump a lot more government money into the economy just don't get it/ we need to set business free to drive economy forward, not burden business with more taxes
- got to understand to get a more dynamic private sector, we can't just count on big business- we've got to get behind the start-ups, the young/ need entrepreneurs in every street in every town/ economic dynamism starts small and thinks big/
