A: *pulls hat over head* / no I was doing Chinese cuisine / which is about 180 degrees removed from any western cuisine / Paul was quite startled I must say Q: How did you find Mr Kaye's cooking? A: formidable / more speech in french SOT / translation SOT - fantastic and he wants to go back because he didn't understand that the first time it was possible A: well by all means as soon as he comes back and he has any time (in a french accent) I would like you to tell Paul that my house is an open book, or my book is an open house or if it's an open house we'll all get arrested Q: What is it that makes this meal so special Mr Kaye? A: This one? Well first of all because they're here they really are quite extraordinary fellas / know for many many many years / the generation / there was a whole generation of French chefs that were rather insular about French cuisine - they didn't think there was any other cuisine in the world / and these guys are curious, they are very very good at what they do / and what is really remarkable is that they all like each other! / For instance if he makes up something they immediately get on the phone and say hey do you know what I did today / no great big secrets from each other / don't try to protect they're own special recipe / they share everything with each other / it's really a fraternity / really one of the most remarkable group of fellas in any profession I've ever seen
