- I didn't spend a lot of time with Joy Division but they were the reason I came over to England / Sam Riley right for the part because he looks a lot like Ian but something about him I didn't find anywhere else / Very fresh as an actor / I call it divine intervention / Positive reaction from Debbie Curtis and New Order / Plan to make fictional film next / 'Control' is tragic love story, not a rock film / Film in black and white because memories of England in 70s pretty bleak / To leave such an impression with just two albums is pretty amazing
