Q - on relaxing
Sunak:
- I have two young girls and they're at that beautiful age where they don't really have that much interest in what I do.
- They want me to be interested in what they're doing.
- I'm taking half an hour off later today to see my daughter's play.
- That and taking nice walks with our new dog in Yorkshire.
- When I got this job, I became an absentee dad, an absentee husband and lost all control in the household.
- Talks about his dog playing with Dylan.
Q - on difficult decisions
Sunak:
- It's been tough.
- I did not get into this to put up people's taxes.
- Much as people forget... Thatcher and Lawson had to do similar things. But when they started, they inherited this huge debt.
- That's what I've had to do. It's not easy but I think that's the right thing to do.
- We've made the difficult decisions - now that's done.
- We want people to keep more of their own money, keep growing the economy - we have to do that in a sustainable way.
