Congressman Buck secures promises from tech giants against slave labor
Colorado Congressman Ken Buck asks executives of Amazon, Apple, Alphabet and Facebook by videoconference at a House Judiciary antitrust subcommittee hearing a simple yes or no question if they would certify they did not and would never use slave labor to manufacture products or allow products sold on their platforms, Tim Cook answering he would love to engage on legislation but to be clear that forced labor was abhorrent would not be tolerated in Apple, Sundar Pichai sharing his concern, backed adding he did not want to engage with his office half the time but they could agree that slave labor labor would not be tolerated, Pichai agreeing.
