Chicago police blocked off the Lakefront Trail at North Avenue Beach just hours after mayor Lightfoot warned people not to congregate. Interim police superintendent Charlie Beck added that breaking the "do-not-congregate" mandate is a misdemeanor subject to a fine of up to 500 dollars.Ìý
He's asking people to call 9-1-1 if you see groups of 10 or more people gathered in public or private spaces.
