Waters Says Congress Intimidated by Gun Lobby
California Representative Maxine Waters speaks during morning hour debate in the House to recount a sit-in held by her caucus weeks earlier. Waters describes the sit-in, caucuses and activists who joined outside the Capitol to say they are sick and tired of the influence that is exerted by the gun lobby, that the NRA owned too many members of Congress. Waters discusses legislation and who should not be able to purchase firearms such as those with something wrong psychologically or emotionally. Waters says the Speaker will not take up the bill because he is a handmaiden of the gun lobby along with all of the other members, that we need to know who is buying these guns, and that people are selling guns out of the back of their cars who do not know the purchaser.
