California Congresswoman Doris Matsui says at a news conference with House Natural Resources Committee Democrats on energy and environment provisions in a budget reconciliation package known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that it will gut environmental protections, endanger public health and wreck the economy with nothing beautiful about it as it is dangerous, reckless and flat out ugly, attacking the basic right to clean air and water by eliminating and defunding clean energy and pollution reduction programs that endanger everyone including their own constituents, while children will suffer from reckless actions and get sick more often with lifelong chronic conditions and die young as Republicans let oil and gas companies pay to break rules and dodge legal liability.
