California Congressman Jerry McNerney says in debate wearing a face mask on a resolution to allow remote proxy voting that the numbers of 1.45 million confirmed coronavirus cases and over 86,000 related deaths continued to increase, Congress must provide help and leadership, it is critical to continue serving constituents but the require members of Congress to travel back and forth to Washington to vote and participate in official business during the pandemic put the health of constituents and members at risk and would worsen the crisis being worked to mitigate.
