California Congressman Derek Tran says at a news conference to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Fall of Saigon ending the Vietnam War that over 58,000 United States soldiers and more than 260,000 South Vietnamese soldiers gave their lives in service, with many US soldiers returning home without deserved recognition, and they now stood together to say what should have been said long ago, thank you and welcome home to all Vietnam veterans, while mourning those who fought for freedom and the countless innocent lives lost.
