Mayweather held public training session ahead of rematch with Gotti III
MEXICO CITY, MEXICO - AUGUST 22: Boxing fans attended five-time world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather's public boxing training on Thursday, Aug. 22, ahead of his exhibition rematch with John Gotti III, which will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
Before entering the ring, Mayweather posed for photos with boxing fans who had traveled far to see the rematch live.
Their first encounter in June 2023 ended in chaos when the referee, Kenny Bayless, stopped the fight in the sixth round, triggering a mass brawl. Frustrated by the early stoppage, Gotti lashed out at Mayweather, leading to a tense situation in the ring as members from both camps rushed in. The situation escalated, prompting police to intervene and instruct fans to leave the arena to restore order.
Floyd Mayweather, a boxing legend, has held world championships in five weight classes: super featherweight, lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight, and super welterweight.
