Cardinal Health executive testifies before House panel on opioid overstock
Board Chairman George Barrett of Cardinal Health tells a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee in prepared testimony that West Virginia recipients of medical products distributed by hospitals and pharmacies were neighbors and family members of his company, the the company could play a constructive role in addressing challenges, expressing personal regret for judgments made to the people of West Virginia, hoping with the benefit of hindsight to have moved faster with a different set of questions, that regulators and his company had cut off oxycodone and hydrocodone, the company was focused on continuous improvement and committed to working with Congress and regulators in the health care system to combat the opioid crisis and do it now.
