Chris Cornell and Tim Commerford Talk About Fighting a Bear

Interviewer: Bears are nice as long as you don’t bother them. Tim Commerford: I tell you what, if one of them bothers me I’ll have that thing strapped to my handlebar and I’ll be back at the hotel showing off. Chris Cornell: He thinks! Tim Commerford: I’m telling you that right now! Interviewer: You know what?! If that happened! Tim Commerford: No bear is going to come after me! We are higher on the food chain, believe it or not, bears are lower than us and we have the power over the bears. Like I said, it will be hanging from my handlebars… Chris Cornell: Trying to get back with the bear! Interviewer: But I’ve seen many bears when I’ve been hiking and I don’t have a gun and I feel very scared. Chris Cornell: It’s alright. Tim Commerford: I don’t carry a gun and I’m not scared. Interviewer: You can just punch it. Tim Commerford: I would maybe take its eye. That might be something that I would do. Chris Cornell: I’m not getting close to the head of a bear, I’ll tell you that right now. Interviewer: A bear’s jaw would like… Tim Commerford: That’s alright, its eye would be in my hand before that happened. Chris Cornell: I don’t think so. Tim Commerford: I think I would pluck its eye out. Chris Cornell: I don’t think you would get anywhere near its head! Your head would be gone! Tim Commerford: I’m not afraid of a bear. Interviewer: I’m not afraid of a bear! Chris Cornell: Whether you’re afraid or not has nothing to do with what’s going to happen to you when you run into a bear and try to take its eye. Tim Commerford: I’m not afraid of a bear, like I said we’re higher up on the chain of life and even if I don’t have a gun, the bear thinks I do. Chris Cornell: No it doesn’t. Tim Commerford: That’s what I’m saying, the bear thinks I have a gun so I just kind of act like I do, even though I don’t, and I don’t back down. I saw a TV show on Discovery Channel that said if they come after you and even touch you, like if they bump you, you fall down and you go into the dead mod
