Owl Stays Calm While Repeatedly 'Dive Bombed' by Birds in Meme-Worthy Video
A barred owl demonstrated the patience of a saint while being repeatedly flown into by smaller birds as it perched on a tree in New Jersey. Footage posted to Instagram by https://www.instagram.com/p/DLi1XQZxEOk/ Eric Capers shows the owl remaining impressively calm as it was "mobbed" by "two angry https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/blue-gray-gnatcatcher blue gray gnatcatchers " in an attempt to scare it off. "The barred owl is perched close to their nest, so the gnatcatchers attempt to drive it away by dive bombing the owl in the head," Capers told Storyful. "This is a common behavior from song birds when an owl is nearby," he added. The owl's unbothered reaction is comically meme-worthy, with Capers himself jokingly captioning his post, "When the text thread notifications start popping off and kills my vibe."
