Banana is the most consumed fruit by the population of the state of Amazonas, with an estimated per capita consumption of 58 kg/inhabitant. The fruit has great economic and social importance for Amazonas as it is the most consumed fruit. It ranks second as an agricultural product, right after cassava. Among the most consumed fruits in the state, bananas have the most potential, mainly because they are rich in potassium. The fruit, which is easily found in markets and fairs, can be consumed in countless ways, from natural to flour, fried, sweet, with vitamins, jams, pies, among others. (image 1)
