The drills, conducted by the Barnaul missile formation of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN), involve maneuvering operations, extended marches, and defensive measures against potential threats. According to the ministry, Yars mobile missile system crews carried out marches spanning up to 100 kilometers (62 miles) while practicing field deployment, camouflage, and combat security procedures. The exercises also included countermeasures against simulated sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Support units trained in evacuating specialized equipment from areas of hypothetical chemical contamination, ensuring operational resilience in contested environments.
