Atrial fibrillation of the heart, animation - HD stock video
Animation of the human heart showing atrial fibrillation, a type of arrhythmia. Atrial fibrillation (AF or A-Fib) is disordered beating of the heart due to disruption of the normal orderly electrical impulses. The atria (upper heart chambers) are quivering here, and this fibrillation leads to irregular contraction of the right and left ventricles, in the lower part of the heart. This means the blood is pumped irregularly through the body, as shown by the irregular pulses of red. Incidence of AF is linked to high blood pressure, lung disease, obesity and the use of alcohol and tobacco. This heart disease can cause heart failure and strokes. Compare this with the healthy normal heartbeat in clip K009/5690
