Death toll in Russia’s missile attacks on Slovyansk rises to 9
SLOVYANSK, UKRAINE - APRIL 15: At least nine people were killed in Russian missile attacks on the eastern Ukrainian city of Slovyansk, Ukrainian authorities said on Friday (April 15).
The head of the Military-Civil Administration of the city of Slovyansk, Vadim Liakh, said in a statement on social media that the dead body of a woman was found from a debris of a collapsed house.
Liakh stated that the number of people killed in the attack increased to 9, while the number of injured increased to 21.
As a result of the missile attacks carried out by the Russian army on Slovyansk on Friday (April 14) houses and vehicles were damaged.
On Telegram, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia "brutally shelled the city. Residential buildings were hit. Unfortunately, wounded and dead are reported."
Zelenskyy said that Russia "once again demonstrates its essence. Just killing people in broad daylight. Ruining, destroying all life."
"There will be fair accountability for every manifestation of terrorism," he said. "We will not leave a single trace of Russia on our land. And we will not leave any enemy unpunished either."
