Senator Cotton suggests mailing retrocession for DC over statehood
Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton says at a press conference with other Republicans to oppose District of Columbia statehood that there was one place on a map where American citizens resided at the White House which meant the president in the First Lady only needed to change their voter registration from Florida to Washington and they would control their very own three electoral votes, wife a proposal by Democrats was plainly nothing but a democratic power grab, DC consistently had the highest share of Democrat votes in the electoral college but Democrats were angry the American people had not given them total control of government for over a decade so the one at the stack the rules of democracy and placed Democrat Senators in perpetuity as a matter of representation in the Congress, using the Mac to make practical accommodations for the security and safety federal institutions and retrocede the entire residential part of DC to Maryland as was done for Arlington and Alexandria to Virginia in the 1840s.
