Senator Kyl casts issues irrelevant to Kavanaugh confirmation process
Arizona Senator Jon Kyl argues in floor debate on the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh that a lot had been heard about items not relevant like Judge Bork, Justice Clarence Thomas or Judge Merrick Garland, arguments about who started the unseemly process, noting that one interview began with a senator telling Kavanaugh his process was be difficult because of what happened to Garland, but that should have no bearing on his qualifications for the court, comments by President Donald Trump were irrelevant, the outcome of a midterm election for President Trump's future, nor about punishing Kavanaugh because some crime victims had not received justice.
