Unity in Greater Manchester amongst ten councils and MPs. - Living under restrictions for 3 months. Taken a heavy toll. Businesses on the brink. - To accept any further restrictions would be certain to increase poverty, homelessness and hardship. - Tier 3 most affects people working in pubs, bookies and working in taxis. - This city region has never walked on by. At start of negotiations we made a commitment to stand up for what it right. It cannot be right to close places of work without proper support to look after themselves and families through winter. - Clear throughout we could only accept restrictions with financial support. Put forward costed package of measures. 15 million a month across 10 boroughs. Need support to top up furlough to 80 per cent. Can't live on 2/3rds of wages. This would cost 90 million to end of financial year. Prepared to go to 75 million, 65 million bare minimum to prevent poverty and homelessness. - Not what we wanted, what we needed.
