Slovakia's river flowing cave Domica offers spectacular boat trips to visitors
KOSICE, SLOVAKIA - MAY 17: Anadolu on Wednesday (May 17) videoed Slovakia’s river flowing cave Domica, which has been a tourist attraction with spectacular boat trips.
The cave is in Roznava region of Kosice, Southern Slovakia.
As a special experience, the Domica cave offers its visitors an attractive boat trip on its underground river, Styx. Thanks to its significance and unique ornamentation, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Boat trip has two sightseeing routes that are available for visitors; the long one is 1,180 m long, takes 60 minutes and the short one is 780 meters long route, takes 45 minutes.
Domica is famous for its spacious domes. It boasts abundant dripstone ornamentation with little lakes, onion-shaped stalactites, and pagoda-shaped stalagmites.
The cave is part of the largest cave system along with the Baradla cave in Hungarian territory with the total length of 25 kilometres and its entrance is 339 m above sea level.
