Hamas commander among 2 killed in Israeli airstrike in eastern Lebanon
BEKAA REGION, LEBANON - MAY 17: An Israeli airstrike on Friday, May 17, resulted in the death of two individuals, including a leader of al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, near the Syrian border in eastern Lebanon.
Sources said an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle in the town of Majdal Anjar, Bekaa region.
The al-Qassam Brigades in Lebanon later confirmed in a statement that commander Sharhabil Ali Sayed was killed.
In a related development, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for launching rocket and artillery fire at Israeli sites of Jal al-Alam, Bayad Blida, and Al-Baghdadi near the southern border.
It also announced targeting the Israeli site of Al-Malkiyya near the Lebanese border with artillery shells.
