80th Anniversary Of Wannsee Conference

BERLIN, GERMANY - JANUARY 20: An exhibit shows the original Nazi participants, including Reinhard Heydrich, in the villa known as "The House of the Wannsee Conference" on January 20, 2022 in Berlin, Germany. On January 20, 1942, 80 years ago, Nazi Germany government officials met at the so-called Wannsee Conference, in which they discussed the means for the mass extermination of Europe's Jews, also known as the "final solution." While mass murder of Jews by the Nazis was already well underway, the Wannsee Conference led to the large-scale roundup of Jews across Europe with the purpose of sending them to death camps built by the Nazis in Poland, including Auschwitz-Birkenau, Sobibor, Belcez, Majdanek and Treblinka. Up to 7.4 million Jews died in the Holocaust. (Footage by Christian Ender/Getty Images)
