American newsreel reporting on demonstrations outside the Deutsche Oper in West Berlin where the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and his wife, Empress Farah Pahlavi, were attending a performance of 'The Magic Flute' at the opera house. The protest is part of several that have happened throughout West Germany motivated by accusations of the persecution of political opponents of the Shah in Iran. As a result of the protest, one demonstrator, Benno Ohnesorg, has been killed and 44 injured, including both policemen and protestors. Views of young people carrying placards and wearing masks, police clashing with the crowd and using batons and protestors running away en masse. West Berlin, FDR; 2nd June 1967.
