Video captures Uruguay’s Estadio Centenario Stadium which hosted first FIFA World Cup
MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY - NOVEMBER 17: Ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, video captured Estadio Centenario Stadium in Montevideo, Uruguay where the first FIFA World Cup final was played in 1930.
The stadium also known as the Centenary Stadium that hosted the 1930 FIFA World Cup Final played between Uruguay and Argentina on July 30, 1930.
Uruguay, which went down in history as the first country to win the World Cup, won the trophy by beating Argentina 4-2 in this match.
The stadium was built for the 1930 FIFA World Cup, and the immigrants who worked on its construction completed the stadium in a record nine months.
It is among the 15 largest stadiums in the Americas with the capacity of 60,235 people and was declared a "Historic Monument of World Football" by FIFA in 1983.
