Final Pine Trees Removed From Mount Wellington To Make Way For Native Bush Ecosystem
Ageing pine trees have been removed by ground crews and helicopter in Auckland's Maungarei (Mount Wellington) volcanic cone making room for 10,000 native trees to be planted in their place to establish a native bush ecosystem. New natives will include kanuka, karo, mahoe, pohutukawa and puriri.
