Wuhan Stages Dazzling Light Show To Mark Medical Workers' Day

Wuhan City of central China's Hubei Province has staged a spectacular light show to mark China's fourth Doctors' Day, also known as Medical Workers' Day which fell on Thursday this year. The downtown Wuhan comes alive at night with the light show that will run from Aug 17 to 22, as the Second Yangtze River Bridge and skyscrapers are shining with dazzling lights under the night sky. The long galaxy of high rises twinkling across the city sent massages to eulogize the medical workers that had made extraordinary contributions to the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic and call for respect from society for the healthcare heroes. Citizens have been drawn to admire the spectacular show and pay tribute to the medical workers. "I feel grateful and encouraged, for the light show also gives expression to the high expectations towards medical workers," said Zhao Hongyang, a doctor of the Wuhan Union Hospital. Wuhan, the worst-hit city by the coronavirus outbreak in China, has emerged out of the crisis thanks to the frontline medical and health workers fighting against the virus.
