What we see in this image is downtown Xilitla, the cathedral and the buildings around downtown. The cathedral in Xilitla dates back from 1553 the Spanish Augustinians started building in that year the church, this is one of the oldest built structures in Mexico, it was the center of some battles and had a lot of problems between the local chichimecas and the Augustinians priests that had to left the convent for several years, it was also in the middle of the Cristera war (Christian war) in Mexico.
