Arsenio Hall Talks About the Origin of His Name
Hall: Actually, my mother found it in a Greek book of mythology, and it was the god of strength. I think in Spanish it has something to do with the word “fire,” it’s a derivative of fire. And I have a friend who’s Italian whose father is from Sant’Arsenio, which is a town near Sicily.
Reporter: So it’s all tying in.
Hall: Yeah, it’s like something from different languages. It’s every – It’s an interesting word and a popular word in every language and every place except America. Here it’s like, “What did he say his name was?”
