Acid attack victim Joe Davies speaks to media after 45-year-old Roger Comer was jailed at Oxford Crown Court for nine years for inflicting grievous bodily harm for the attack on him in July 2017 in Slough. An acid attack survivor has called for tougher sentences to be imposed on perpetrators of the crime after a "monster" left him with permanent scarring. Joe Davies, 25, branded his attacker a "coward" for inflicting the lifelong injuries on him. Last week, 45-year-old Roger Comer was jailed at Oxford Crown Court for nine years for inflicting grievous bodily harm. Mr Davies said that his sentence should have been "a lot longer". He added: "I am scarred for life, psychologically and physically, and I think people like that deserve the same sort of impact on their life. "I think they should have life imprisonment so it affects them for life, just like it does the victims." Mr Davies said he considered Comer to be a friend at the time of the attack in July 2017 in Slough, Berkshire.
