Vasoconstriction

Vasoconstriction, Vasomotricity is the ability of the blood vessels, specifically the arteries, to reduce their diameter (vasoconstriction) or to increase it (vasodilation) in order to regulate the blood flow: when the artery contracts, the arterial pressure increases and the blood flow decreases, while when it dilates, the pressure decreases and the flow increases.
