Tibetan monks from the Gyudmed <cq> Monastery in southern India <cq> practice a ritual using the Dhongchen <cq> or "long horn" and other instruments during their stay with hosts in Boulder, CO. <cq> The monks, including from left to right, Lobsang <cq> Tsering <cq>, Gedun <cq> Kalsang <cq>, Dawa <cq> Dhondon <cq>, and Dhonden <cq> Norbu <cq> are on a five month U.S. tour which will include the Museum of Outdoor Arts Englewood Civic Center <cq> where the monks will bring their teachings of compassion and non-violence, creating the Tibetan Compassion Buddha Sand Mandala, or large colorful sand art, along with other events and the sale of Tibetan handicrafts. The money raised is for Tibetan Living Communinties, <cq> which was founded by Lobsang, and funds education and healthcare for refugee children in India. <cq> Join the festivities in Englewood with opening ceremonies on Saturday, July 19, through the next week, and ending Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m with the dispersal of the Sand Mandala.
