Egypt: the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris at Kom Ombo. This detail of a sandstone relief at the entrance to the proanos is part of a set which shows the sign of life, an ankh with an arm. In one hand he holds an ouas scepter which, at the top, is decorated with an animal's head with small eyes, marked ears and a long nose. It can be identified as many things ;a donkey, ant-eater, greyhound or okapi, which are all considered as figurations of the god of evil, Seth.
