Joseph McCarthy Holding Large Photographs
(Original Caption) Republican Senator Joseph R. McCarthy of Wisconsin attempts to persuade Army Secretary Robert Stevens, (not shown), to agree that it was "not significant" that the picture introduced at the Senate hearing on the previous day had been cropped to remove a third man. Using an April 26th picture, McCarthy crops out the third man from the prints introduced on April 27th, showing Stevens with Pvt. G. David Schine and an Army Colonel, by Army Lawyer Joseph N. Welch.
