Hans Krebs Posing at His Desk
(Original Caption) Professor Hans Krebs, professor of bio-chemistry at Sheffield University, has been mentioned as a possible winner of the Nobel Prize for medicine. He has played a leading part in the great advances in bio-chemistry. His name was proposed last year for the award, jointly with that of Dr. Selman Waksman, the American discoverer of streptomycin, but the prize was awarded to Dr. Waksman alone. Born in Germany, Professor Krebs was educated there and came to Britain in 1933.
