(Original Caption) 7/29/1948-Pearl River, NY- A new drug, which promises to conquer diseases that cannot be treated with penicillin or streptomycin, has been made from a golden colored fungus first isolated by Dr. Benjamin Duggar,microbiologist at the Pearl River laboratories of Lederle Laboratories Division.The drug, called aureomycin,has given indications of being effective against various types of virus diseases.
