House Minority Leaders Meeting with the Press
(Original Caption) Washington, DC.: No Deal With Red China On Fliers--Senate Minority Leader William F. Knowland of California (Left) and House Minority Leader Joseph W. Martin, Jr., of Massachusetts talk to a press conference after a meeting between Legislative leaders and President Eisenhower at the White House yesterday. Knowland quoted the President as saying that the administration made no "deal" with Communist China to obtain release of 11 American airmen. Red China announced it would free the fliers on Monday, about an hour before the U. S. Chine Ambassadorial Conference opened in Geneva.
