Impellitteri of New York(left) reads the proclamation declaring the period of August 31st to September 6th as "Rodgers and Hammerstein Week." With the Mayor at City Hall are Mr. & Mrs. Richard Rodgers(center) and Mr. & Mrs. Oscar Hammerstein II. The famous composer and librettist were honored for "their long and distinguised careers in the theatre, their invaluable contributions to the entertainment and cultural life of New York City and the great masses of theatregoers everywhere."
