Mr. and Mrs. George Dunlop, photographed in theirs Balmain house. Mr Dunlop is ex RAAF man with over 2o years in service, he paid a passengers ticket for his wife to fly the Race. Mr Dunlop is also holder of half dozen of Service Medals and one for Distinguished Service... Mr. and Mrs. Dunlop at home yesterday. When next month's NSW air race was first announced, Mr. George Dunlop was eager to be among the starters on the day. But Mr Dunlop, whose enthusiasm for flying has spread to his wife, Joan, has stepped down to give her his seat on a race aircraft. Mr Dunlop, 58, a television technician living at Balmain, is no stranger to aircraft. He spent 22 years in the RAAF before retiring in 1960. When Mrs Dunlop, a secretary, got the flying bug, she began to take gliding lessons and was making good progress. February 25, 1975. (Photo by Antonin Cermak/Fairfax Media via Getty Images).
